The village store and the village café are part of the "Allgäuer Genussmanufaktur" (www.allgaeuer-genussmanufaktur.de) home and community project in Leutkirch-Urlau. Our village store sells regional products such as bread, cheese, milk, sausage, eggs, pasta, coffee, beer and much more from a radius of 75 kilometers. The village store and café was originally founded by the Historischer Dorfgasthof Hirsch (www.dorfgasthof-hirsch.de) and Allgäuer Genusshotel (www.allgaeuer-genusshotel.de) and is now run as an independent business.
The village café in the village store is a meeting place for young and old. It is a cozy place to enjoy. The upgrading of the village café was funded as part of LEADER.

LEADER stands for "Linking actions for the development of the rural economy" and is a funding instrument of the European Union to strengthen and further develop rural areas. With the LEADER approach, the European Union has been supporting model projects in rural areas since 1991. The funding program is financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The Allgäu Genussmanufaktur was officially inaugurated in September 2019. We were supported by the LEADER funding program for the conversion of the building.
